Dysentery is a form of diarrhea where you might find stools are tinged with blood and mucus. Diarrhea, if not treated on time, can be serious. Those suffering from Diarrhea may have to visit washroom over and over again. Sometimes when the matter is serious, patients even have to visit hospitals. The onset of diarrhea can be can be problematic as it can bring about fever, fatigue, loss of strength and thirst. Dehydration is often a serious side-effect, which occurs when a person becomes too feeble to drink enough liquids.

It is poor hygiene which often causes Dysentery.  Simple example would be a person who doesn’t wash his hands well before eating his meal has a higher chance of catching Dysentery. There are many types of Dysentery and they are caused by either bacteria or parasites. Through contaminated water, food or soil, ameba parasite spread. In areas where there is poor sanitation, this disease is more common therefore, its advised that when travelling to tropical areas, one must take extra care related to drink, food and personal hygiene. Amebic dysentery is triggered by a single-celled parasite which often infect the intestine. Usually this is called amebiasis. Although Amebic dysentery isn’t very popular in the developed world. Mostly it is found in areas like tropical locales where sanitary condition is really poor.

Amebiasis is spread from person-to-person contact or by consuming contaminated food or water when the parasite is present in cyst stage.

Now you may wonder how can you know that the condition is Diarrhea? Well, in case of amebic dysentery, there is constipation combined with intestinal cramping and gas. When people are in contact with this parasite, they often mild or severe symptoms or sometimes, no symptoms at all. Although, people with mild infection may experience includes loose stools, nausea, abdominal tenderness, weight loss, and occasional fever. Symptoms may be evident from a few days to weeks but usually within a month.

While we know that there is treatment available for dysentery but even when suffering, it can cause the person to go through a lot of pain and difficulty. With the constant weakness, fatigue and nausea, the body loses its strength and capacity to perform any function.

For Dysentery treatment, its advised that you see a doctor as soon as possible. There are many simple, natural home remedies available which can be beneficial for your health and it would help you to gain strength and vitality.

Buttermilk or Orange Juice
Buttermilk is very popular in our country. Its heavily consumed during summers as its said to provide coolness to the body. In dysentery, when you take buttermilk, it would be wonderful for you as it known to aid intestinal cordial bacteria in the stomach to grow. Along with that you can have curd as well as it contains good bacteria deliver corrosive, acidic and annihilate the unsafe bacteria in the stomach.

Castor Oil 
Castor oil is a natural remedy to remove Dysentery as it is a delicate laxative. When patients take castor oil, it minimizes the straining in the solid discharge and encourages snappier end of dangerous matter.

Bael Fruit 
Bael fruit is one of the effective ayurvedic home remedies. You can make a juice out of it and consume at least 3 times a day in order to cure the infirmity.

Dysentery is a difficult disease indeed but it can be managed with a decent lifestyle and food intake.

Mixture of Buttermilk and Rock Salt 
Buttermilk provides coolness and good bacteria that would protect the intestine. When you combine it with rock salt, it not only enhances the taste, you also derive more result from the mixture.
