Help Me I'm A Newbie

by Paul Hines Health & Wellness Rep.

I lost count of my newbie mistakes in the beginning, they're too many to count.

While I can look back now and laugh, at the time I was going through that hell on

earth it wasn't funny in the least. It got so bad that I had to change my credit

card number because I had no clue who was taking what or when.

Its been my experience that you can have all the drive to succeed in the world but

if you don't take action you're blowin in the wind. The main problem I'm seeing

with newbies is lack of focus, its understandable in today's climate because of the

sheer information overload from the time you wake up until the time you go to bed.

That's why niches work so well for me, I find a niche, focus on that niche or hyper

niche or the niche within a niche, stick with the basics, set up my analytics so I

can gauge what works and then move on to the next hyper niche. People are making

money online but it didn't happen overnight.

If you decide to get involved in Network Marketing it will probably be the hardest

thing you've ever done in your life, you'll have to push yourself to your limits

and then push some more. You'll have to stick it out until you find what works for

you then you'll have to duplicate your technique.

Never be afraid to take risks and make mistakes, learn from them and keep it

moving, they're a fact of life in this world. Be careful not to burn yourself out

because its easy to do. Never ever program hop, its a fatal mistake. Master one

niche before you move on.

How long will it take to see results you ask? That varies, I would give it at least

6 months before I take a look at what I'm not doing. Some people will tell you that

they struggled for years in their business before they saw a dime. What they won't

tell you is that they had either a working spouse helping out or some other form of

income coming in.

I also suggest that you learn how to create a Wordpress blog, Wordpress blogs rule

and once you learn how to negotiate their blogs you stand a good chance of making

it. Try not to send people to your main sales page before you create a relationship

with them. Send them to a splash page or your blog so you can gain their

information and begin to build your list.

Great advice Paul, I'm still trying to overcome my time challenges and master my Wordpress blog. I've been at it too long to give up now. With articles like yours I remain motivated. Thanks.

Yes, this is a great article that I feel every who new or struggling should read. I'm writing something similar to share of how I take things day by day. I told you were a great guy glad to have you as a contact!

The part I can't figure out is when does it change? I have been doing this stuff over 11 years full time and I still learn something nearly every day. It's a constant jump from newbie to guru and back to newbie again.

Oldbuddy, you are so write I have been at it for 9 years felt like 4 but I never stop learning or trying to daily because I feel if you do that's it. I have lost good income once from thinking this is it "I don't have to do anything" then reality set in others copied what I was doing and did it better.

Great article and good info. Like the part of not being afraid to try something new and learn from your experience. Thought the part of taking action was sage advice for all working online...new...or otherwise.

Sounds like we've all eaten the same dirt and yes, the internet is moving at blinding speed. Its kind of scary at times because just as soon as you reach the learning curve on one thing, another thing you have to learn pops up.

You have to be a 'student of the game'. As many have said there is always more to learn. The biggest newbie mistake I see is jumping in without a plan and no knowledge. But those who are willing to learn and apply will succeed if they stick with it.

@Cheryl - that was me - "jump in with no plan and no knowledge" - and at the start, no where to go, it became a self teaching process. It is a continual learning process and like Warren says, I learn something everyday. I think Paul that the key point that I take from your article and that I would pass on is: "if you don't take action you're blowin in the wind" - It must be consistent and persistent action on a daily basis.

Great article Paul, some great points that are beneficial to your readership.

What a wonderful article Paul you hit all the basics on the newbie subject and I agree 110%
on your getting to know someone first before making them a partner in your business.Thumbs
up to you my new friend.

Actually Corey I have to say that you did have some knowledge, a sales background offline. Most of the same things that apply offline apply online. I'm talking about people jumping into that have never dealt with sales or marketing in any capacity. And they jump in because they see a website promising them lots of money.

Oh - I see where you're coming from Cheryl.

Yes that is true I do have that sales background. The marketing aspect is where I have had the biggest learning curve - internet versus offline I have found to be quite a bit different from each other. But the sales aspect is very similar - I agree.
