Have More Savings from Flights to Tenerife to Explore More

by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

Tenerife, the largest of all the seven Canary Islands of Spain, is visited by nearly 5 million tourists from different corners of the world every year. It is famous for its 'Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife' which is held in the capital city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Human settlement on this island can be traced back to the 2nd century BC when it was inhabited by people known as Guanches. It was fully conquered by Spain in the year 1496, although attempts were made much earlier. In the following years, the fields for agriculture were created and the planters cultivated plantains, wine grapes, and cochineal.

You can utilise the savings made while booking flights to Tenerife in advance to explore the island's popular attractions. One of them is Teide National Park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site centred on Mount Teide, the highest peak in Spain. Upon visiting this national park, you'll come across some amazing volcanic landscapes and different varieties of flora and fauna. The park is spread across a vast area of more than 18,000 hectares and has special services organised for its visitors. You can enjoy panoramic views of the park and its surroundings from several vantage points.

Another interesting place worth visiting is Parque Rural de Anaga, which is located in the north-eastern parts of this island destination. This park, also known as Anaga Rural Park, has dense jungle areas home to some endangered wild animals of the region. This protected area in the Anaga Mountains was declared a biosphere reserve in the year 2015. Within this park, you'll find several sites of natural and cultural relevance that are visited by many tourists annually. The best way to explore them is to embark on a tour of the park using any of the hiking trails.

Masca Valley is yet another beautiful area you can explore while holidaying in Tenerife. It is located in western parts of the island and has been named after a small village, which connects to the sea through the Masca gorge. Over the years, the village has become a popular spot for tourists visiting the island and a lot of them enjoy their Masca walk through the gorge, which stretches to about 4.5 kilometres. Most of the tourists take a one-way walk up to the sea and then leave for Los Gigantes on a boat. While exploring this part of Tenerife, you'll surely get the opportunity to witness spectacular landscapes.

When you're exploring the beaches of the island, don't miss visiting the beach of Playa del Duque. This resort is located in Costa Adeje and its beach is a perfect place for sunbathing and savouring some relaxed moments. You can also enjoy swimming in the majestic waters that touch the beach. The beach has some excellent facilities for visitors, such as sunshades and ice-cream kiosks. Facilities have also been provided on the beach for those who wish to indulge in some exciting water sports and other adventurous activities while enjoying their holiday in Tenerife.
