Handy packing and in-flight tips for an international relocation - Part 2

by Paul Rudd Search Engine Optimization

If you are moving to a new country, then gathering information about all the relocation processes, planning for them, and executing them without any mistakes, could all prove to be major hassles. One such troublesome process, in particular, would be dealing with the baggage policies and adhering by them. There is every chance that you may goof up here and consequently find yourself in a bad situation. To avoid such a scenario, hire the removal company & storage services of a reputed and experienced organisation such as Writer Relocations. Such an organisation would take care of the transportation of your goods from your old residence to your new one, provide you with assistance for visa & immigration, obtain customs clearance for your belongings, and take care of all such headaches pertaining to your international move. But even with one of the most experienced and professional international removal companies in charge of the transportation of your goods, there are still some things you must be aware of and do before and during your flight. And that is exactly what we will discuss in the second and final part of this series. So here are a few more handy in-flight tips coming your way!

Carry your valuables and important documents with you

You’d usually only be allowed to carry a small suitcase that could fit in the overhead luggage compartment and a small bag or purse. So the storage space you have available to you is minimal. It, therefore, becomes imperative that you make optimum use of the space available to you. Only the most precious and important items should find a place in your hand luggage. And it would be hard to argue against the fact that jewellery, antiques, and heirlooms are the most precious of all items; at least monetarily. Apart from that, your personal documents too are extremely important. So it would be advisable if you were to carry these items with yourself instead of asking your packers and movers to do it.

Carry the essentials with yourself

Apart from valuables and documents, you’d also need to carry some essential items with yourself. For instance, if you are travelling with a toddler, you’d need to carry the child’s toys and blanket with you to ensure that the child stays comfortable and jovial during the flight. Also, carry your debit and credit cards with yourself instead of packing them in the luggage. You’d most probably need them immediately after you land so it would be nice to have them handy. Also, if the flight is going to be long then you must pack your sleeping kit as well - eye mask, earplugs, U-shaped travel pillow, etc. Make a list of all such essential items beforehand and ensure that the moving & relocation service in UK that you hire hands them over to you and doesn’t pack it along with the other items. Genuine and experienced international relocation companies would, in fact, ask you beforehand about the items you want to carry with yourself.

What to do on the aircraft?

The journey to your new house could be very comfortable for you if you ensure that you do some basic things that are expected of you on a flight. For instance, you must stay hydrated during the journey. The air inside a plane isn’t humidified. So it is common for passengers to feel thirsty or experience other problems such as chapped lips, dry skin, etc. So make sure you drink a lot of water during and before the flight. Don’t substitute water with beverages like tea, coffee, or alcohol as that would make actually make things worse. Another thing you should be aware of is that planes contain a lot of surfaces that are touched by many people - armrests, magazines, etc. So there could possibly be a lot of germs around. Make sure you carry a sanitizer and disinfecting wipes to avoid germs.
