by Mustafa Ismail Hardware Store Manager

When shopping for tools, one thing that sounds intimidating is picking from the two options, Bosch power tools or hand tools? DIY and homeowners often are tricked with the selection and decision making. Which is better? Which is favorable and can be helpful for DIY projects? What should be the budget and which project can be handled from these two tools? Before making the decision, it is very crucial to know and have a deep understanding of the tools. Let us figure out what power tools and hand tools and how they differ in the first place?

THE DIFFERENCE

Hand tools are just what they sound like, they need human control, manual labour. Power tools on the other hand have a source of power that allows operating automatically without human intervention.

The source of power could be a battery, electricity or even an air compressor. Power tool comes with a motor and other mechanisms allowing it to function accurately, powerful and even effective results are delivered.

When talking about manual tools, it has fewer moving parts and is designed in a very simplistic nature.

Benefits of Hand tools

  • Hand tools are pretty cheaper, they are not too complex, therefore the user is easier and simpler.

  • The best part is, this tool lasts longer, and as they do not have any complex parts or run-on battery which will ruin its functionality later.

  • As the tool is manually handled, the control is entirely upon how the person handles it, the job can be quicker if the manual work is quicker.

  • You can always trust on hand tools since they are available all the time. You need not have to change the part, run for batteries, or power problem issues too.

Benefits of Power Tools

  • Power is the main and foremost benefit of power tools. Equipped with a motor, the source of power allows it to function smoothly, smarter, accurate and with professionalism.

  • Great power leads to greater accuracy and saves ample time in the project.

  • You will have a very precise cutting experience, and your job will be having a better finishing experience too.

  • The job is done very quickly, without having to put extra effort or pressured into using the product

Should I Pick Power tools or Hand tools?

The tool you select majorly depends upon the type of work you wish to complete through the tool. Your project type will be able to give you better clarity in the selection of the tools. Also, if you are comfortable using hand tools by putting a little extra effort into handling it. If not, you can rely on the big brands like Bosch power tool to do the automatic job and get done faster.

Running short of budget can lead you to pick a hand tool, which is again a very amazing investment for long term benefit. On the other hand, a power tool will be a better pick if your job tasks are a bit heavy and you can’t rely on manual labour. Everything depends upon your needs and expectations with the tool.
