Gym Workout Plan To Lose Weight

In case you are working out for several times in a week in a bid to lose weight and get fit, you will need a routine that will provide you with maximum results and in the minimum amount of time. Fitness scientists have tried to figure out the best way of working out. After years of research, they have concluded that there are several workouts that are the best choice for weight loss. These are:

Cardio

According to the America College of Sports Medicine, it is possible to increase your metabolism by 24 hours when you add just one twist to your exercise program. A good idea would be to include some brief sessions of intense workouts in your regular schedule (walk, swim, bicycling etc). The intensity will serve to reset the metabolism to a rate that is slightly higher during the workout and it will take hours before it can slow down.

Strength

In case there is a demand for fuel by the heart and the other organs around the clock, it can be a bit difficult to increase your metabolic needs. However, the muscles which also need constant feeding are changeable. When you make them bigger, they will demand higher amounts of calories. This means that with the right strength exercises it will be possible for the muscles to use calories before they are made into fat by the body. Some of the recommended strength training exercises are:

  •     Scissor crunches. Start this exercise by lying on the back. Fire the abs and raise one of the legs to an angle of 45 degrees above the floor. With the neck and head remaining in a neutral position with the spine, list the torso off the ground and touch the legs with the opposite hand. Get back to your starting position.

  •     Quad/Glute-contracted plank. Start while in the plank position. However, the arms should be away from the body. The elbows should be vertically even with the ears. Ensure that the elbows are close together. Contract your quads intensely before contracting the glutes intensely. Ensure that you hold that position for a period of time.

  •     Side planks. Start by lying on the ground as you post on same side elbow. Ensure that the legs are stacked before lifting the hips from the ground.
