Recently Forsaken Silver, the Mod creator, stated that modern firearms will be compatible in the Dark Soul 3. Well, this was a long awaiting desire of players and the recent project is exactly bringing what should have brought a long time ago. Now that modern firearms are in the Dark Soul 3, this game will never be the same as before. The new mod of game brings tangible firearms in the game along with various weapons to choose.

The weapons that are identified as Modern Firearms are now part of Dark Soul 3 mod that replaced all crossbows and turned into Modern firearms. These weapons are not just replaced by skin colour but their design, and behavior now act in such a firearm way. Firearms with a fully automatic and one-shot punch are the effect of these guns. Number of crossbows has been replaced with Modern Firearm and here is the list of all weapons that affected:

Light crossbow: Vector SBR
Heavy crossbow: AK-47
Sniper crossbow: Sniper rifle
Avelyn: MP5
Knight crossbow: M16
Repeating crossbow: Thompson SMG
Arbalest: Shotgun

There are two separate ways to use these weapons; either you can use them single-handed or double-handed. In the variant of one-handed, semi-auto fire mode is enabled that shoots extreme damage to the opponent. The accuracy of the single-handed weapon is also high, but the firing rate is slow, and the stamina cost is high. On the other hand, a two-handed variant exists that provides less damage on each shot and accuracy is also reduced. However, a two-handed weapon allows stamina cost low as the compensation to players. From both of these ways, players can choose which one is best for them and which one they can control better.

So the design and effects of forearms have been replaced, but there are still one or two more things that were needed to consider which is firing rate and sound effects. Every weapon possesses different sound effects and different firing rates. So from the project of mod, it was really essential to give a proper touch to the weapons and each weapon uses default ammo that the crossbow will use. So to keep on the ground with the great number of ammo, players need to keep their ammunition stock up to date to avoid running out.

Great thing is that Forsakensilver has managed to redesign the weapons completely that purely looks stunning by looks and effects. Players have the choice to choose between two-handed weapons and one-handed weapons. Weapons are now more accurate, but yes it cost the stamina. From ammo to stamina, players need to be packed with every major item that helps them in the battle.
