Gmail Notifications is missing from your device- Here’s the solution

by Maria Jhon Blogger

Gmail is an immensely versatile email application that offers tremendous value to its user in terms of performance. In recent time, many users have come across a strange bug with a Gmail application. According to some user, their Gmail app has stopped sending the notification on their Android-powered devices. The issues seem to be quite baffling in nature. In the absence of the notification, it becomes difficult for the user to pick the ongoing activities on their email account.  Let’s have a look at some probable resolutions which can rectify this problem with ease.

Go through the Application settings

First, you need to confirm that your device is receiving push notifications for the Gmail application. You can verify this through the app settings.

Open the Gmail Application on your device.

Tap the menu icon and locate the settings.

Select the email ID for which you’re not receiving the push notifications.

Tap on the Notification inbox and then tick the box near to Notify for every message.

Go back to the settings and open General settings.

Tap on the Manage notification and enable the Mail option.

This will take care of the issue that you’re facing with the push notifications.

Verify the battery settings

When your Andriod smartphone goes low on the battery, it automatically stops the push notification along with power-hungry apps. The latest version of Android uses this technique more often to crank up the endurance of the device at a low battery level.

Tap on the Gear icon to open the Settings.

Open Battery & performance and tap Choose apps option.

Now select the Gmail app and tap on No restrictions.

This will offer the full-proof access to the push notification. Anyway, try the next method, if these steps failed to restore the problem.

Cache & release

The cache has a significant impact on overall application performance. The overloaded cache may tear down the basic functionality of OS and makes it more cumbersome to use. So you must ensure that your device is not utilizing the cache memory to display the emails you have already received. Clear up the cache memory in the following ways.

Tap on the setting of your Andriod device.

        Select Install Apps>Gmail.

Scroll down and tap on the clear data and cache memory.
