by Pallavi Goswami content writer

Everyone wants to have healthy food. But what if your healthy food becomes tasty as well? When it comes to choosing a cooking oil, there are too many options available in the market. In this article we will be comparing ghee and olive oil so that you can understand which one is better for you, ghee or olive oil. Ghee and olive oil, both the products are considered to be healthy in terms of nutrition. But, they have several differences which we will compare and decide, which one is better for us.

  1. Ghee is a clarified form of butter that comes by melting pure dairy butter. While olive oil is extracted from olives. So ghee is a dairy product while olive oil is sourced from plants.

  2. Ghee has a very high smoke point of 485⁰F which is a great choice for cooking, frying, roasting etc. But olive oil offers a low smoke point and it is not suitable for high temperature cooking.

  3. Ghee is extremely versatile, you can spread it over toasts, muffins or add it into your fatty coffee. Olive oil tastes best when used raw in dips, spreads, sauces, salad dressings etc.

  4. Olive oil is rich in vitamin E, and K. It also contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. The nutritional value of ghee is higher than olive oil. Grass-fed ghee has vitamin A, D, E and K, essential fatty acids like omega 3 and omega 6. Olive oil has a long fatty acid chain while ghee has a short fatty acid chain, which makes ghee the primary choice. So, which one is your choice, ghee or olive oil? Let us know by commenting.
