Ghee or butter: Which one is better for a keto diet?

by Mitun Mukherjee Milkio food product

Ghee and butter both are made from the same milk and they are used interchangeably. Being a rich source of healthy fats, ghee and butter both are used heavily for culinary purposes. The health benefits of ghee are much higher than butter. Which is the best butter for keto? The answer is a common one. As per nutritionists, grass-fed butter is the best of all. This type of butter is produced using 100% grass-fed cow's milk which is rich in vitamins and nutrients.

However, butter is made of three things: butterfat, milk solids and water. The milk solids or lactose and casein, often create allergic reactions among lactose-intolerants. This is why ghee is better than butter. The nutritional value of ghee is higher than butter. It's made by simmering butter, removing all the milk solids. This is why ghee is also popular as clarified butter.

Ketogenic diet is a high fat and low carb diet. Having ghee in the Keto diet will not only help you achieve your health goals but also make sure the taste is not out of your plate. Always prefer using grass-fed cow ghee to get the maximum health advantages.
