When dental implants are placed in your jawbone, they bond with your natural bone. They become a base for supporting one or more artificial teeth called crowns. They are the most natural looking and natural feeling replacement for missing teeth.

Procedure

Dental implant surgery is usually an outpatient surgery performed in stages. Your damaged tooth is removed and your jawbone is prepared for surgery, a process that may involve bone grafting. After your jawbone heals, your oral surgeon places the dental implant metal post in your jawbone. The cost for a single implant is about $1,700 plus the implant crown. The implant cost depends on the condition of the gums and jaw bone.
