Why? Let’s put it this way.

When you land on a Facebook fanpage, one that has many likes tends to have better credibility compared to one that doesn’t have that many. So with a greater number of followers on twitter, your company will reflect that same credibility.

In short, even if people don’t know what your company is about, they can assume you have a trustworthy business due to the strength of the following behind you.
