by Rihana Hodges Canon Printer Support NumberPrinters have taken an essential place in this technological
world. We all rely on our computers for printing various vital documents such
as advertisements and letters. However, your Printer may stop functioning after
you replace the empty ink cartridge. As a result, the machine might not create
Prints up to expectations. This issue may occur when the Printer cannot detect
the filled cartridges and perceive that it is still empty. This problem may continue
when you fill those cartridges yourself. This blog will discuss quick hacks to
Fix Canon Printer Not Printing After
Refilling Ink.
Removal of Protective
Tape
A print nozzle in an ink cartridge is generally covered with a
small strip of protective tape while shipping to prevent any loss. This
protective tape does not let the ink oose out or leak during shipping. Without
Removal of the tape, the cartridge is not able to print. Now while installing a
new cartridge, look for the tape and Remove it. The colour of this tape varies
from one model to another. Carefully remove the tape and ensure that no other
tape or sticker is ditched as they prevent ink from drying out of ink.
Ensure proper
installation of the ink counter
Sometimes printers are not able to read whether the cartridge
counter is filled or empty. Many models of printers have reset features that
necessitate the Printer to identify the cartridge. For example, canon Printers
have a cleaning button or load or eject button depending on the model to make
force recognition. First, lift the clamp, ensuring secure handling of ink (do
not remove the cartridge). Now shut the clamp and press and hold the load and
eject button for 3 seconds. If the process differs for resetting your device,
then refer to the printer manual.
Run Extended Cleaning
Cycle
If the cartridge is left in the storage for a long time, it may
start drying out. I can also dog the cartridge, and the Printer may not detect
the ink. Running extended cleaning cycles can resolve the issue. Press and hold
the cleaning button for a few seconds to kick start the cleaning process. Refer
to the manual to run the cleaning process. After resetting the Printer, test
the Printer by printing a test page. If the issue persists and your Printer
cannot print, follow the next step in the series.
Refilling cartridge
Issue
Refilling the cartridge saves money but causes many issues like
the Printer not printing after reloading issue or lousy quality print, and many
more. If you did not fill the cartridge appropriately, your Printer may stop
functioning and may not produce any image. Also, when you fill in by yourself,
there may be air bubbles, or the ink may not reach the bottom of the reservoir,
causing issues. You can quickly fix the problem by injecting more ink into the
empty area through exit holes. Air bubbles can be a significant obstacle in the
smooth flow of ink, causing blocking ink flow issues. This problem can be cured
by leaving the cartridge undisturbed for about an hour and letting the bubbles
dislodge themselves. If the problem persists, then remove the cartridge and tap
gently on the table. Now print a test print to check whether the problem has
gone or not.
