Five Things That Orlando is Known For

Nicknamed “The City Beautiful”, Orlando is known for its theme parks, lakes, and its natural beauty. Such is the craze for people to visit this city that Orlando, with its population of over a quarter million, hosted 62 million visitors in 2014. The city is ranked among the world’s premier tourist destinations and its famous Disney World lies at the heart of all the attraction. 

The economic and cultural growth of the city has been almost same as other major cities of the sun belt. Orlando is dotted with hundreds of big and small lakes and the largest being Lake Apopka. With humid subtropical climate, Orlando has hot and rainy spell of summers which may last till late September. So those planning to book flight tickets to Orlando, Florida can make it for the season beginning from October onward. 

Here we have summed up five things that the city of Orlando is known for and something that the tourists might find worth exploring:      

Theme Park: There are three major theme parks in Orlando and one could plan an entire week’s vacation while exploring them. Of these three, the Walt Disney World Resort is an entertainment complex reputed as most visited vacation resort in the world. The complex houses four theme parks, two water parks, a camping resort, golf courses, etc. 

Similarly, SeaWorld Orlando is a theme-based marine zoological park complex which houses three parks and several hotels. Some of the popular rides and attractions include Empire of the Penguin, Journey to Atlantis, Shamu Express, and roller coasters like Mako, Kraken and Manta.  
 
Convention Center: The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida hosts several trade shows and and conventions. Being the second largest convention center in the country, it attracts people from around the globe. The convention center has a Valencia Ballroom with size larger than a football field. So, while booking cheap airline tickets to Orlando, you could also reserve a visit to the Convention Center. 

Entertainment: For entertainment, the Universal CityWalk is usually the first choice and the one-stop destination for the locals and travelers alike. At CityWalk, one could find a Hard Rock Cafe, Blue Man Group, and several other bars and dance clubs. Like CityWalk, Downtown Disney is home to several bars and dance clubs and is the permanent home to Cirque du Soleil productions. 

Arts and Museum: At the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, you could find the largest collection of Tiffany glass in the world. It showcases beautiful lamps, jewelry, art glass, leaded-glass windows, etc.  
   
Natural Beauty: Orlando has a brilliant mix of greenery and a number of big and small lakes. So from boating and jet skiing to fishing, there are are several ways in which you can enjoy a day-out in Orlando. Further, you may also take a stroll along the Lake Eola Park or head for the Cypress Grove. Just book your flight tickets to Orlando, Florida and enjoy the nature at its best.
