First Day of School Tip 1: Familiarize yourself and your kid to the new place

Even adults feel worried and shy to get around new people and new places, so just imagine how your tiny tot is going to feel on his/her first day of school. The best way to start the Big Day without tear is to familiarize your child to the school he/she's going to be hanging out as soon as possible.

First Day of School Tip 2: Share positive things about going to nursery

Prepare your child by reading books about going to nursery school. Talk with him/her about school in positive terms, something exciting and enjoyable. Tell your toddler upbeat stories about your own days at nursery and how you used to play games, make friends, sang songs and much more. This will make them believe that nursery learning time is going to best part of their life. Send out good vibes so that he/she doesn't feel anxious or sad about first day of school.

First Day of School Tip 3: Brief nursery staff everything about your little wonder

To make sure a school staff member can help your child with the transfer from your motherly/fatherly care to classroom environment, you need to brief the teacher everything about your kid's likes and dislikes, his/her shy behavior, tantrums, and anything that frightens him/her. The more information you give the school staff, the better time your child will have.

First Day of School Tip 4: Make sure your child is well-rested

First day of school can be exhausting. The 3-4 playing and learning session at the nursery school can be a lot for the little one. You child will need a lot of sleep, about 10-11 hours a night. In order to avoid sleep deprivation situation for your toddler, start rolling back bedtime at least a few weeks before school begins. Getting your kid to bed early will help you get him/her up early in the morning in order to match the new school hours.

First Day of School Tip 5: Make your child a little independent or teach him/her how to ask for help
Transitioning to nursery is a huge change for children. You should help your child develop a sense of independence in terms of basic needs such as when to eat & how much, when they feel thirsty & how to drink water from their own bottle and other stuff. Talk with your kid about how they can ask for help when they can't do it all. You should talk to your child about being aware of what's happening in his/her body.

First Day of School Tip 6: Keep your emotions in check on the first day of school

Children pick up on things easily as they are a great copycats. Sending your child to nursery is a big step, and parents often feel worried about their tiny tots. This is called separation anxiety. Remember it's normal for kids to have an emotional meltdown when it's time to separate but you must show your happy face to comfort him/her. Give them a family photo, special cup or toy to make your toddler feel like a home away from home in the new place.
