The Hyundai Sonata Hybrid can run on either an electric motor only, a gasoline internal combustion engine only or the combination of both bringing its combined horse power of 209 horsepower which tops  the horsepower a Ford Fusion Hybrid which is at 191 horsepower and the Camry Hybrid with 187 horsepower only  

At a price of below $26,000, the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid aims to achieve 37 miles per gallon in the city and 39 miles per gallon on the highway, making them a real competitor in the class-leading fuel economy.  The Hyundai hybrid prides themselves with the exterior looks to outclass the standard hybrid cars.  Their main competition to bring down is the Camry Hybrid and the Ford Fusion Hybrid which are currently the two most popular cars in the mid size hybrid sedans.  Although the hatchback Toyota Prius is still leading the run for both highway and city efficiency with 50 miles per gallon in their pockets, consumers still believe that Hyundai Sonata Hybrid rank is on top in the other category of mid-size sedan, with trunk, alongside the Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Camry Hybrid.
