Fast and Easy Ways to Clean a Microwave Oven

by Lucas Kain Freelancing Writer
If you own a microwave oven, you know how dirty it can get sometimes. Food particles, grime, dirt, spills, all of those are quite nasty and need to be removed as soon as possible. Enjoy a clean and shiny microwave once again with a few easy steps to follow.

When you notice, that the interior of your microwave is dirty, and especially if it has been like this for some time now, you need to grab a bowl of water. Just put it inside the oven with, for example, a wooden spoon inside it (avoid metal objects) and heat for about 5 minutes. This will help with releasing the bits, which are hard to remove. After the heating has stopped, say cleaners in East Sheen, don't be hasty to open the door. Let the steam take its time on the walls. When you finally remove the bowl, grab a warm, moist cloth and clean the insides of the microwave.

If you feel a foul smell coming out of your microwave oven, worry not, it is easily taken care of. Just repeat the previous procedure, but instead of clean water, add a couple teaspoons of baking soda. The soda acts as a deodorizer and is quite a "green" solution to such problems. If you feel like risking, grab a very thick sponge and start scrubbing. Be very very careful, though - the water is really hot!

If you lack baking soda, share the professionals from London cleaning services, you can also use a mix of 1 cup of water and ? cup of vinegar. This is a safe and cheap alternative to the baking soda and is a very good choice if you need to freshen and deodorize the interior of your microwave. A third option is to use slices of lemon. Just put them in the bowl and heat it up as stated above.

You can do the same with a thick sponge, soaked in water and vinegar. If you lack such a sponge, the towel is a great choice, too. Soak it well and let it heat up for 3 minutes. As before, let the microwave stay like that for a few minutes after the heating, so the moisture will loosen up the food crusts and grime. Now, put on a pair of rubber gloves for protection and start wiping the interior.

After this is done, your microwave oven will be perfectly clean and free of any unpleasant odours! Just remember to do this once in a while to not let the grime build up too much, so the work will be easier to do. Usually this takes no more than 10 minutes and you can do something else, while waiting for it to heat up. Good luck with cleaning!
