Explore the best of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, India

Located in districts of Idukki and Pathanamthitta of the Indian state of Kerala, Periyar is a protected area, nature reserve, wildlife sanctuary, tiger reserve, and national park. The Periyar National Park (PNP) is also famous as an excellent destination for birding. There are about 320 different species of birds found at this park. There are also about 45 different species of reptiles found in this protected area including 30 snake, two turtles, and 13 lizard species. The PNP is also home to seven different amphibian species, 38 different fish species, and 160 different insect species, including butterflies.
