Explore More with Savings Made on Cheap Flights to Dubai

by Amanda Sutcliffe Travel Deals

Eco-tourism has been gaining popularity in Dubai since the past few years owing to its potential for attracting tourists from different parts of the world and giving them the chance to explore the local flora and fauna without causing harm to the environment. You can enjoy a guided tour and witness panoramic views of the desert landscape by visiting the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve. In recent times, families visiting Dubai can enjoy great adventures in 'Dubai Safari Park' and the city's very own tropical rainforest called 'The Green Planet'. By visiting these attractions, the children can have some great learning opportunities as well.

The cheap flights to Dubai would give you a significant amount of savings, which can be utilised to explore the eco-tourist havens in the city and its surrounding regions. One of the best ways to enjoy some desert experiences would be to book an expedition to the desert with any of the local operators. Such expeditions give you the chance to stay in one of the desert retreats and have an authentic Arabian experience. You can travel across the golden dunes in a Land Rover and discover the region's unique wildlife. Traditional camel rides can also be enjoyed in these areas.

One of the best destinations for eco-tourism in this Emirati city is the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, which is among the largest areas in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to have been declared by the government as a protected nature reserve. It covers an area of over 200 square kilometres and is fenced to protect the varied species of plants, birds, mammals, and reptiles that are housed within its boundaries. You can also enjoy some exciting activities while exploring this reserve without causing any disturbance to its natural habitat. These activities include safaris, treks, camel rides, falconry, and sandboarding.

Another fabulous place for eco-tourism is the Al Marmoom Desert Conservation Reserve project, which covers 10 per cent of the total land area of Dubai. It is also home to Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Park, which is the largest renewable energy project of the region. This reserve has an abundance of the region's native wildlife and is well-known for its initiatives that promote sustainability. You can find the largest population of Arabian Oryx in this part of Dubai and it also provides refuge to several other endangered species. Also located within this conservation reserve is a famous archaeological site called Saruq Al Hadid.

Your visit to the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project while holidaying in the city would give you the chance to see the amazing turtles without any entry fees or bookings. They are housed in the Turtle Lagoon, which is open to the public and can be reached via Jumeirah Al Naseem. Feedings for the turtles are held every Wednesday at 11:00 in the morning on Turtle Island. The Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project is the only project of its kind in the entire region and is run in collaboration with the Emirates Wildlife Protection Office. Since the project began in 2004, more than 500 turtles have been rescued and released back into the water.
