There are quite a few destinations that one can explore in India, that offer the perfect combination of beauty, serenity and nature. Most people begin their India tours with the northern most state of Kashmir that is often referred to as the ‘Paradise on Earth’. The state attracts thousands of tourists each year to its fold who come to see its snow capped mountains, apple orchards, pristine lakes and colorful flowers. One of the main attractions of Kashmir is the ‘Dal Lake’ which attracts a lot of visitors. Even the iconic Vaishno Devi Shrine located in Katra is also located in this state. There are a lot of temples that are located in Kashmir like the Ranbireshwar Temple, Lakshmi Narayan Temple and Peer Baba shrine.

Sikkim is another important holiday spot that you can visit. The capital of Sikkim, Gangtok is an important hill station that welcomes a lot of visitors into its fold. It is a small town that rests on top of a ridge of height 5800 feet. The place overlooks the Ranikhola River and is situated on a lofty hill that blends with the overall scenery. The Enchey monastery is one of the places that you should include in your itinerary. The cool, cozy atmosphere of the place makes it an ideal summer retreat for travelers coming to India tours. Add to this, the fact that the place has a near zero crime rate makes it an ideal option for tourists planning to visit this place.

Darjeeling is another place that tourists flock to which is located on the eastern side of India. Located in Lesser Himalaya Region in the Indian State of West Bengal, the place is famous for its Ghoom monastery that is located on the hill slopes. Trekking on the hill slopes of the mountains in Darjeeling is an experience that will stay with you for long. Ascend higher on the hill slopes and you get a chance to capture the beauty of the Himalayas.

Another popular summer retreat located on the southwestern coast of India is Kerala that attracts tourists from all across the globe. The phenomenal natural beauty of the state has given it the sobriquet of ‘God’s Own Country’ as lots of tourists come to explore the backwaters of Kerala. Ooty is another place in the south that offers a superb blend of high mountain peaks and the green valleys. Known as the abode of Nilgiris, Ooty and its tea gardens are a pleasure to the senses.
