Essential things to be included in a web development agreement

There are different techniques that can give you handsome amounts every month from your website, mobile app and online games. But, you need to make your website, mobile app or online game with some essential elements, and such professional works can be done by a certified web development company only. So before you make a contract with a web development company, you must know about your rights. To protect your rights, you must include the following details in your web development contract:

Identification of both parties:

Be a client or a web developer, you must ask for the proper identity proof from your opponent party, and you must attach such indent proof of both the parties in your web development contract. In future, any part can tract the other one through these documents because the violation of contract can be done by any of the party.

Scope of the services:

Web development contract must contain separate annexure for service details where a score of services, functionality and scalability test of the website, delivery dates, details of the software and creative works needed for the website and technical details of the project should be written carefully.

Payment and mode of payment:

As a web developer, you must include the payment details in your agreement, and you must include the invoice, payment dates, advance payment details and future payment mode in the agreement. For example, you can accept the payment through cheque, online mode or in cash. In this case, you need to include the account details in the agreement where your client can transfer the amounts.

Ownership of the website:

As a client, you need to buy a domain name, hosting and other products on your name, and you must hold the password and other details of such products. Web development agency can work on your website and you can outsource the web development or designing task to the developer. Apart from that, you must hold the intellectual rights of your website and you should check such terms in your web development agreement. In future, if you face any problem then you can easily switch to another web development agency because you have the ownership of your website.

Web developers can leave your project anytime and you cannot switch to another development agency to run your website smoothly. Another web development agency will take few weeks to take up your project. In this case, both the parties must include a termination or notice period in their agreement, and if any of the party needs to leave the project or terminate another party then they must serve the notice period prescribed in the Web Development Contract.
