Essential Oils Are Growing in Popularity

by Kevin Smith Author

Embracing holistic, healthy-living practices can bring added wellness and satisfaction. Essential oils are not a trend. They have been referenced in Chinese manuscripts, the Dead Sea Scrolls, and were even used by ancient Egyptians as medicine.

Sometimes controversial, sometimes embraced, you cannot deny the aromatic properties of many oils. Essential oils have also been recommended for topical and internal uses. Many claims say diffusing the oils at home or work can influence your health or disposition.

So Many Diffusers

Diffusers and essential oils from Young Living in The Woodlands, TX, offer some of the most effective ways to use essential oils. There are 4 popular types of essential oil diffusers that are widely used:

·         Ultrasonic or humidifying diffusers create a fine mist. Vibrations break up the oil’s molecules and disperse them in the watery mist.

·         Nebulizing diffusers are essential oil diffusers that do not require heat or water. They work by using pressurized air and oil. A fine air mist releases whole oil into the air in the form of tiny droplets; it is often considered the best type of diffusion for the therapeutic use of essential oils.

·         Evaporative diffusers use a small fan that blows air past the oil, causing it to release into the air.

·         Heat diffusers work similar to the evaporative diffusers but use heat to release the essential oil into the air.

Choosing an Essential Oil to Diffuse

Not all oils are ideal for diffusing. Citrus-based oils are best used in plastic diffusers. Heavier oils, like patchouli, may clog sensitive sensors in some diffuser models. Not all oils are meant to be blended. Quality essential oils can be expensive. It is fortunate that normally only 5-10 drops are all that is needed to prime your diffuser. Run your diffuser for only 10 to 30 minutes at a time.

Below is a favorite diffuser recipe to purify the air and create a refreshing aromatic experience that uplifts the spirit.

Mix in equal amounts lavender for soothing, calming, and freshening, add peppermint for energy, and lemon for its cleansing, revitalizing, and uplifting properties. Your room will smell fresh and clean and you will be left feeling energized.

Diffusers and essential oils can be found in pharmacies, health stores, and online stores. Each has a wide range of appeal, pricing, and effectiveness. Find local, quality essential oils at Young Living in The Woodlands, TX.
