It is preferable to follow the marked route starting from the centre - walking on the picturesque paved streets - in about fifteen minutes you will discover a view that will delight your senses. It is certain that after you sit in one of the cafes that surround the castle, you will not get enough of looking at the stunning view of the Corinthian Gulf. Despite the devastation and damage, they have suffered, are one of the most important and well-preserved monuments of fortress architecture in Greece.

During spring, this walk around Nafpaktos will be even more memorable, thanks to the smells of blooming flowers, the pleasant sun, the well-preserved whitewashed courtyards and the endless blue of the sea. Nafpaktos is also a great base for day trips to Mountainous Nafpaktia or even to the beautiful landscapes of Fokida. In a few minutes, you can find picturesque villages with dense forests, impressive rivers, such as Mornos and Evinos, with running waters, well-preserved settlements, beech forests, chestnut trees, oak trees and fir trees. Elati, Ano Chora, Simos, Terpsithea, Platanos, are some of the villages are great stops for your itinerary. Thus, Nafpaktos can cover every traveller's wishes. It can surprise even the most demanding visitors. Nafpaktos is a special place distinguished by beautiful neighbourhoods, hospitable residents, historical monuments, authentic villages and nightlife, flooded with the majesty of nature that is dominating every corner.
