Big bang is a widely recommended implementation methodology in ERP software package. In this case, implementation of software is only done at once. It needs a lot of planning before implementing the software. After installing the new system, old system is completely removed from operation. Reduced cost of implementation, immediate transition and less duration for implementation are some major advantages of using big bang ERP implementation methodology. Here, old system will hand over the functioning charge to new system.

Testing the whole system before implementing software and easier failure formation are main drawbacks noticed for big bang methodology of implementation. Before choosing big bang implementing methodology, you need to have good planning for nullifying error. Big bang does not need any assistance of special interfaces for performing its operation. Change of software take place in very short interval of time period and there is no need for updated user documentation during implementation process.
