Erectile Dysfunction in Women?

by Kurt P. Smith
Media has for a long time now pictured the main sexual disability that can change the course of men’s lives: erectile dysfunction. Various treatments have been developed to treat this condition and allow men to regain their erectile function and their sex lives. Yet, little or no attention at all is given to the similar issues that are encountered by women. However, things were about to change when specialists asked themselves whether Generic Viagra and its main compound, Sildenafil Citrate which is also found in Kamagra, could be as effective in treating women sexual dysfunction as it is in treating erectile dysfunction in men.

There is an estimation that about 50% of women suffer from a more or less severe form of sexual dysfunction. This condition, in women, is characterized by a lack of libido and desire and it may go as far as the inability to achieve an orgasm. The low libido is, however, thought to be one of the most common forms of sexual disorders that can be seen in women. It is also estimated that about a fifth of these women have problems in what lubrication is concerned and which makes sexual intercourse less pleasant or even painful. The main causes for this condition may include anything such as relationship concerns, illness, childcare responsibilities, fatigue, depression or financial or job worries as well as certain medications such as anti-depressants or anti-hypertensives.

There were several studies carried out in order to determine whether Sildenafil Citrate could be efficient in treating women sexual problems linked to the lubrication problem. It has been shown that an increased blood flow into the female genitalia may have a similar effect to that in men. Once the genitalia are better irrigated with blood, the area becomes more sensitive to touch and thus lubrication is hastened. The studies did not, however, conclude that Generic Viagra and Kamagra can be as efficient in women as they are in men, but they did reveal their potential.
