Equipment You Need To Build a Melting Furnace

by Vishakha Bharti Content Editor
Melting furnaces are the core components of the foundry. These are the huge vessels in which the solid metal is converted into the molten form, which is then poured in molds to be made into desired shapes. The furnaces can be of different types such as induction furnaces, electric arc furnaces, reverberatory, cupolas, and crucible furnaces. The capacity of the furnaces can also vary greatly.

Melting furnaces are usually made up of aluminum steel, stainless steel, fiberglass, brass and copper.  Each of the materials performs a different function. One of the main components of the furnace is the blower. The air blower is used to pass air into the furnace system to assist with the melting process. Manufacturers of Industrial blowers are used to supercharge the burners. This increases the heating efficiency of the furnaces. Suppliers of industrial blowers can give a clear idea of how the process goes about.

Hollow shafts are another important component of the furnace. Industrial shafts manufacturers claim that hollow shafts are better than solid shafts because of the better strength to weight ratio. When material from the center of the shaft is removed, it decreases the weight on the shaft but retains the sturdiness, thus making it stronger. You can find varieties with exporters of industrial shafts.
