the grey area to one where everything is in black and white-except, of course,
the images, the industry had seen a drastic change. Though the cable TV
providers also will now have to stream the entertainment through set top box,
but they are no match for the standards set by the digital TV providers who
have mastered the technique to enhance the TV viewing experience of the Indian
consumers.
The digitization is surely the way
forward with more quality content coming on board to various platforms, but the
DTH players have really a tough battle in the future. Indian market does not
follow the Western market rule where not more than 2 providers can survive as
they get rights exclusively to contents by the broadcasters. The Indian
fairytale has always believed in equality and same is the case with the DTH
market.
The DTH players though are the
promoters of interruption in the Indian family solace time; there has been
constant trial by companies to enhance entertainment and family culture
together with features like unlimited recording by Videocon d2h.
But which is the best DTH??
Indians are always used to have
choices but find it really hard to compare when all the products are almost similar.
The question of which is the
best DTH? Have I made the right choice? Will I save if I take this
always pop’s up and the consumer’s get stuck. DTH providers always try to
differentiate themselves with the others but the product and service being similar
gets the consumers in a fix. The market is more or less similar to telecom
where all providers have similar call rates and service thus the question of which
is the best gets varied response.
How do you
compare who gives you the BEST?
To figure out which is the best DTH the consumers must first figure out what
their true requirements are. The provider must at least satisfy the
physiological needs of the consumers, so the first thing to look out for should
be the number of channels the companies provide at the same price. Companies
like Videocon have proven to be the best in terms of fulfilling the
physiological needs of the consumers with providing the most number of channels
at a cost effective price. Along with this they also cater to the premium
customers with highest number of ASLI HD channels among all the players.
Similarly other companies too have been trying real hard to create their
differentiation with other players to prove “They are the sure choice”.
With more technological innovations
coming in the industry, it is going to be interesting to see who emerges as the
Most Valued Player with the battle to rope in new customers being constantly
won by the last entrant Videocon with other catching up quickly.
