During your cheap holidays to Vienna, you'll certainly get the chance to visit its enchanting parks. They take you away from the hustle-bustle of crowds and allow you to take a break from your busy sightseeing schedules. In early autumn, the trees in these parks come alive with beautiful colours and are a great delight to watch if you're visiting the city during this season. One of the most popular public parks in the city is the Vienna City Park, which is the first public park in this part of Austria and was created in the 19th century. You can also have a wonderful time in the Danube Park. Although it faced a period of decline for some time, it was completely transformed in the 1960s into a sought-after recreational area.

A ride in one of the horse-drawn carriages during your Vienna holidays would give you some truly memorable moments. These carriages are called 'fiakers' and have been immensely popular among the locals as well as tourists since the 18th century. You'll enjoy your ride in these historic carriages that take you through all the mesmerising sights of the city. These horse-drawn carriages are found in the important parts of Vienna, such as Burgtheater, Heldenplatz, and Stephansplatz. While enjoying your Vienna holidays, you'd definitely like to taste some of the popular delicacies of the city. Among them is a chocolate cake called 'Sachertorte', which is savoured as a dessert by the city's locals and tourists alike. This chocolate cake is so popular that the 5th of December is celebrated as a National Day of Sachertorte every year. Sachertorte is usually served with cream and also has apricot jam as its mid-layer. It has been named after an Austrian confectioner known as Franz Sacher, who had invented this delectable treat in the year 1832.
