Empowering Women with Education, Scholarships

A number of scholarships are available to empower women in India. Time has gone when they were confined within the four walls of the house. They have broken the glass ceiling and have created a niche for themselves in society.

To empower women further with education, universities, NGOs and Corporates have launched a number of scholarships. These scholarships for women are launched every year so that every homemaker can take advantage of it. Here, we have prepared a list of such scholarships for women.

Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship: The objective of this scholarship is to encourage women to excel in the field of Computer Science and Technology. The vision is to build role models & leaders in the field of Computer Science.

Santoor Women's Scholarship: This scholarship is launched to encourage girls from the underprivileged background to pursue higher education. With this scholarship, girl students after grade 12 can pursue the education in any discipline with a minimum of two years’ duration.

Lady Meherbai D Tata Education Scholarship: Launched by the Tata Trust Group, this scholarship is for Indian women who wish to pursue higher education in the US, UK or Europe in the areas such as Social Work, Social Science Education, Education and Welfare of Children etc.

Adobe Research Women in Technology Scholarship: This scholarship, launched by the Adobe, invites applications to the inaugural Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship, which recognizes outstanding undergraduate female students who are studying Computer Science.

Tata Housing Scholarships for Meritorious Girl Students: This scholarship is launched to financially assist meritorious female students belonging to economically weaker sections of society so that they will be able to complete higher education in Civil Engineering, Architecture and Construction Project Management and be a part of the flourishing Real Estate Industry.

AICTE-Scholarship Scheme to Girl Child (SSGC) under Pragati: Launched by the AICTE, this scholarship is designed to promote technical education (Engineering, Architecture, and Pharmacy) at Degree and Diploma levels among girl children. The scheme is to support one girl per family.

Fair and Lovely Foundation-Higher Education Scholarship: This Fair & Lovely scholarship is launched to support women to pursue higher education for in India. This scholarship is given to pursue graduation, post-graduation and PhD studies from any Government Recognized Indian Universities.

KSCSTE Prathibha Scholarship Program: This scholarship is launched to motivate aspiring students from Kerala to pursue higher studies in Science. The scholarship supports students who aspire to pursue degree/ postgraduate courses in Basic/Natural Science in Institutions/ Universities in India.
