Easily apply for DOT OSP License

by Gaurav Bansal Company Registration Consultants in Delhi

Starting a call center isn’t easy, mostly because people bear a false belief that getting a DOT OSP License is difficult. We are here to tell you that it’s not. If you have the right documents, the right mindset, and the right DOT consultants to help you, applying for a DOT OSP License is a piece of cake.

In this article, we show a combination of steps that will smoothly get you the authorization to start your call center.

What is the DOT OSP License?

Operating a call center involves the use of a lot of telecom resources. The Department of Telecommunication or the DOT can’t allow you to use telecom resources at such a scale. Why? It’s because telecom resources can pose a threat to national security if they don’t have proper oversight. That’s why, if you want to start a call center business, you need to get authorization from that Department of Telecommunication (DOT). It’s called DOT OSP Registration or DOT OSP license.

How to apply for the DOT OSP License?

Step 1: Give your OSP a proper structure

To start a call center business, you need to give it a proper structure. A private limited company is flexible, poses fewer risks, and allows a business endeavor to reach better heights safely. Another structure that you can opt for is an LLP or Limited Liability Partnership. A Limited Liability Partnership is suited for call centers that provide financial services. It has the benefits of both a private limited company and a partnership. That being said, LLP works best for businesses that are established, and have big pockets.

That’s why your first step to getting a DOT OSP License registration is to start a company.

The following points condense OSP registration into a few steps:

  1. Decide a good name for the company.

  2. Get the authorization tools (DSC and DIN) to file the online application for company registration.

  3. Draft the Memorandum and Articles of Association (MOA and AOA) to state the object of the company (which in your case is providing call center services) and describe the rules & regulations respectively.

  4. Attach the MOA, AOA, and other required documents to the online application.

  5. Submit the company registration application online.

  6. Get the certificate of company incorporation.

Step 2: Put together the documents required for DOT OSP License

Following are the documents that you require to get the license to start your call center:

  1. Certificate of incorporation of your company or your LLP (Depending upon which business infrastructure you’ve set up)

  2. Memorandum of Association and Articles of Association.

  3. A document listing the directors of the company

  4. Shareholding pattern of the company which gives a financial picture of your business enterprise.

  5. A network diagram showing the way you’re implementing the telecom resources in your call center.

  6. A power of attorney authorizing the DOT License consultant to file the application for OSP registration on your behalf.

  7. A 60-word note that describes the type of service you’re going to provide through your call center.

Step 3: Apply for OSP Registration at Saral Sanchar portal

Saral Sanchar is the online portal through which you apply for DOT OSP Registration. It’s at this website where you enter your details, upload your documents, and submit the application straight to the head office of the Department of Telecommunication.

Step 4: Wait for the Department to scrutinize your application

Once you’ve applied, there is nothing left to do but wait. That wait causes uncertainty, and uncertainty is a nuisance than a step. So, how can you deal with such uncertainty?

You don’t wait alone.

The DOT Consulting services provider will wait alongside you. In addition to that, he will:

  1. Monitor the progress of your DOT OSP registration.

  2. Provide you regular reports of the application status.

  3. Take proactive measures if the Department rejects the application.

Step 5: Get the DOT OSP License for BPO

After the completion of the first four steps, you’ll get an OSP Registration number – authorizing you to jumpstart your call center business.

How is the process easy?

From setting up the company to applying for the license, I admit that the steps aren’t exactly as “easy” as the title mentions. However, what makes them easy is one statement:

  YOU HAVE TO DO NOTHING.

Everything from giving your OSP a proper structure to getting you the DOT OSP License, are the responsibilities of DOT Consultants. They consist of experts from the legal, financial, and consultancy domain. Together,

  1. They set up your company.

  2. They put together your documents.

  3. They file your application.

  4. And, they are the ones that in the end, deliver you the DOT OSP registration.

All you have to do is reach out to them for DOT Consulting services.
