Dorota Dyman & Associates Real Estate Police Warn of Online Real Estate Scam
by Mathew Clark Dorota Dyman & AssociatesOTTAWA — The Ottawa police fraud unit is warning the public to watch out for online real estate deals that are “too good to be true.”
Police say users are duplicating genuine online postings of area properties at a drastically reduced asking price — and then trying to convince interested buyers to provide a deposit. In some cases, the suspect has actually contacted the genuine sellers saying they have clients interested in the property.
The fraud unit is investigating and warns that “such good deals are sometimes too good to be true.”
