Do Women Actually Love Cleaning?

by Lisa Header Writer

Do women love cleaning? Actually, yes, they do. A recent research of 2000 females in the UK has shown that every third woman secretly loves cleaning her home. This is a contradiction to the wide-spread thought that very few people actually like cleaning their houses, but it's true. The reason for the conflict between the research and the wide-spread thought is that many women don't admit the fact that they love doing household chores. In this research, many women confess that they love the household work because it makes them feel confident and pleased. Cleaning their homes gives them the comfort of showing a clean and tidy place to unexpected guests. As a matter of fact, women may love cleaning but four on every ten will keep this fact to themselves and prefer not telling their male partners.

According to the research, made by the professional cleaners of Anerley, the most preferred cleaning chores are cleaning with the vacuum cleaner, de-cluttering and wiping surfaces clean. Next in the favourite list of cleaning chores are washing the clothes, changing the bed sheets, doing the dishes, dusting, ironing and cleaning the floors. Of course, along with the list of favourite household chores there's a list of the most hated ones. This list includes cleaning the oven, bathroom and toilet along with defrosting and cleaning the fridge and freezer, disposing the trash and vacuuming the stairs. It seems that the chores that consume the most time or are labelled as "disgusting" are left to be done by men. On the other hand, women prefer doing the chores that make their home look nice, clean and tidy, like dusting and doing the dishes. One more priority of women when it comes to house cleanliness is the smell of freshness. Most of them admit that if they scent a bad smell of a certain house, they definitely will change their mind on the household owner. When it comes to the time spent in house cleaning and maintenance the research shows that a women spends an average time of 4 hours a week cleaning her home. 40 percent of them claim to clean their places alone, while the majority says that their partners take equal part in doing the household chores.

It may sound unbelievable, but one on every tenth woman loves cleaning so much that she will gladly clean someone else's house just to make herself feel better. And this is one of the main reasons for the cleaning business to appear. Most of the maids, who maintain those big residents clean are women, and they really do it without hesitation, just because they like what they do. And when you like to do something, why not try to make some money on that? This way you will live your life fully, earning money while doing what you love. You can take an example from the many local professional cleaners who charge a few pounds and do their job with love.

As usual, there are women and women. :) Some do, some don't. What I know for sure, is that some men's love for cleaning can go up to par with even the most zealous woman's cleaning desires. Cheers for the great article! The topic is certainly hot.

I can't say that I'm one those that love it, I don't. I do like a clean house though but I'd rather be doing something other than cleaning. Maybe it's because I've spent many years in the cleaning industry,ie: hospitals, motels and businesses.

I love it but hate it when others do not keep as clean as I...for me, a clean home is a healthy home.....besides I cannot work in chaos
