Different types of wine bottle opener available in the Market

by Chris G. Digital Marketing Professional
Wine is undoubtedly one of the most desired drinks from the beverage market. Wine comes in different types to suit and cater to the ever-changing tastes of people from different walks of life. However, once wine and beer packaging changed from kegs to bottles, two things changed. Now the imbibers need to have a mechanism to remove the cork as well as the metal cap from the bottles. On the other hand, soft drinks that earlier were sold at fountains also came in bottles and have the same requirement to remove the lid. However, the fact remains that even when some beverages came with twist-off caps, corks or for that matter even in boxes, imbibers still need some method to reach out to the beverages. In the following lines, you will read about the different types of wine bottle openers that you can use to reach out to your favourite beverage.

Basic corkscrews

The basic corkscrews are all about a corkscrew with wooden handle. The user needs to insert the corkscrew by placing the point of the screw into the cork and then twisting the handle. This type of screw is difficult to use, as there remain no mechanical benefits when pulling the cork out. One needs to keep in mind that screw doesn’t go in crooked. Waiter’s corkscrew is the variation of the basic corkscrew that contains the brace that goes against the top of the bottle to lever the cork out.

Wing corkscrew

This type of corkscrew has a pair of levers on both sides. The user places the base of wing corkscrew on top of the wine bottle and then turns the thumbscrew at the top of the corkscrew. Once the corkscrew goes deep into the cork, the wing on the other side rises. As soon as the cork is in, the user presses down on the wing to finally pull out the cork. Nevertheless, the whole thing requires some power or for that matter some force, but this type of wine bottle openers are far easier to use compared to the basic corkscrew.

Lever corkscrews

These types of corkscrews come in two models, vertical and horizontal and take into use a gear to twist the screw into the cork when the handle is raised. When the user pulls down the leaver, the cork comes up. Lever corkscrews require no twisting which makes it easy for all to use and particularly those with less hand mobility.
Electric corkscrews

With the advent of technology, things are becoming lot easier to do and less time consuming. Technology has entered in all the domains of our lives and has assisted us like anything to offer the ease and convenience, corkscrews are no exception. The electric corkscrews automate the process to open the wine bottle and runs on battery or power source. All the users have to do is to simply fit the device on the top of the wine bottle and then press the button to let the machine do the rest on its own. For beverage fans and particularly the wine enthusiasts with severe arthritis, electric wine bottle openers are the easiest to use. However, it is worth knowing that electric corkscrews are far expensive than its wing, basic or lever corkscrew counterparts.

There are different types of corkscrews available in the market that helps the wine enthusiasts to reach out to their favourite beverage with great ease and convenience.
