Different Oils to Fry Potato Chips, Different Flavors

by Lydia L. sale
Potato chips are one of the favorite snack foods all over the world, and also there are many famous potato chips brands so far. People who love to eat potato chips may find that different potato chips have different flavors, the reason is that not only they use different seasons, but also they use different kinds of oil to fry potato chips. Now, let’s see them.

1.Sunflower Oil-Frito-Lay starts to use NuSun sunflower oil in the year of 2006, saying that it will increase the mono- and polyunsaturated fats in their potato chips products, in addition to reducing the saturated fats. Mono- and polyunsaturated fats can benefit heart health, lowering total and bad cholesterol, while saturated and trans fats raise the level of cholesterol.

2.Olive Oil-Olive oil is a monounsaturated fat. Organic chip companies are using olive oil to kettle cook chips. However, it has a low smoking point, above this point it starts to lose its nutritional benefits and turns rancid. The oil is no longer healthy then. For this reason some people are against for frying potato chips with olive oil. Yet you can try low and medium temp frying. Extra virgin olive oil is not supposed to be used for frying, and it is for salads.

3.Canola Oil-Canola oil is one of the unsaturated fats used today for frying potato chips and is often used for fat free potato chip recipes. It does the job quite good when frying. However, it is often claimed for its pretty high omega-6 polyunsaturated fats contents, which is not good for your health.

4.Corn Oil-Corn oil is a rich source of unsaturated fat and low in saturated fat. It also contains rich vitamin A, D and E. It is quite stable when frying at a high temperature.

5.Peanut Oil-Peanut oil is monounsaturated fat and healthy unsaturated oil. It has a high smoke point and is suitable for deep fry. Besides, it lends the fried chips a nice extra peanut flavor. Some people are allergic to peanuts, so use it accordingly.

6.Avocado oil-Avocado is revolutionizing the potato chip industry as a healthy alternative to conventional cooking oils. It has high content of monounsaturated fats as well as rich vitamins and minerals. The mild flavor of avocados provides an excellent foundation for great flavors.

7.Ghee-Ghee is another name for clarified butter. It has been used in Indian cooking for thousands of years. It's ideal for high temperature cooking since it has a high smoke point. Ghee contains healthy fat soluble vitamins like vitamin A, D, and K2 which help the absorption of nutrients in foods and are essential for good health. It can be stored without refrigeration for several months.

Besides, coconut oil and safflower oil are also used for making potato chips.

At the same time, we supply oil-water mixed chips frying machines to help you fry potato chips; you can use the equipment to fry different food without tainting the other odor, which is long life and oil-saving.
