Different Hairstyles You Can Achieve With Just a Hair Dryer

by Stephanie Brodgers Hairstyling tips for long hair

The best thing about using a hair dryer to style your hair is that there are no limits to what you can do or achieve. If you have wavy hair and you want it sleek and straight, a few strokes with your diffuser and other appropriate one-step hair dryer accessories you will have your hair looking exactly how you want it. Although you have to follow certain guidelines in order to ensure that you don’t suffer heat damage and the likes – a little heat protectant will go a long way and with that, you have the hairstyle you’ve been looking forward to.

Of course, there are certain hair types that are more inclined to be achieved by people with particular hair types and not everyone has the privilege of the same. This does not mean that there are hair types that are more favored than others when it comes to versatility or texture. In order to love your hair, it is essential that you love all its aspects and that you take good care of it to ensure that it stays in the best shape longer or that it doesn’t suffer any damages.

So, what hairstyles can you achieve by using your favorite hot air hair styler and how often should you use it enough to get you that hairstyle you’ve been dying to have.

1. Wavy Bob with Bangs

There is just something about a bob haircut that usually transforms the way you look and elevates your makeup and dressing code. If you have a bob hair cut with bangs, you will have to be very careful in blow drying and styling it. Your hair needs to be slightly damp before you start doing this style. With hair curlers, hold the damp hair in place and dry it off with the heat from the dryer. When you are certain it’s completely dry, remove the curlers and boom! You have your curls. You can style your bangs by placing them sideways or let the fall on your forehead. You know yourself best.

2. Sticky Straight

There is straight hair and there is sticky straight hair, and both are achieved differently. If you have been thinking about straight hair and your curls just won’t let you get there in peace, then your one-step hair dryer is the way to go. In medium heat, start blow drying the hair from the top to the bottom while using a round coarse brush. It might take some time for you to finally get there, but with patience and skills, it is entirely possible. Although it seems easy, it’s actually not and if you expect to get it done with a few strokes, then this might not be the style for you. Also, use a sufficient amount of heat protectant prior to styling it in order to prevent damage.

3. Voluminous Curls

Long curly hair is no joke. This often means that getting a hairstyle that works for you is quite a struggle right?

Well no more because a hot air hair styler is what you have been missing. Achieving curls is unmistakably done on damp hair and not anything short of that. For voluminous curls on long hair, hold them with curlers and dry the hair using the dryer. After it’s completely dry, pass your hands through the hair and slightly lift it in a few strokes. Done! You have your voluminous curls.

4. Bouncy, Thick with Curls at the end

Bouncy hair is the epitome of all hairstyles. There is just something about thick hair that’s neither straight nor curly and that is what bouncy hair looks like. Using a hair dryer to style bouncy hair is much easier than having to use several styling tools. It also requires less skill than when you are using your counterparts. Section your hair in layers and start with the lower, back layer. Use a round coarse brush and the one-step hair dryer slowly from top to bottom. Do the same for the rest of the hair and ensure you do not over do it. With your fingers, you can lift the strands up with a few strokes to let the hair settle in and with that, you have a bouncy hairstyle. If you want defined curls at the ends, use small curlers on the hair and remove after you are almost done styling it.

These 4 hairstyles are some of the most common ones that you can achieve with a blow dryer. Having a professional hair dryer makes a huge difference in cases where you just don’t want to go to the salon or you want to personalize your experience. Doing your hair is always better than when someone else is doing it for you because you take good care of it compared to when someone else does it. So, if you haven’t made your hot air hair styler then it’s about time you did because you are missing on a lot.
