Developing a Website from India

by Global Employees Software Development Company
Designing the perfect website should be a premeditated process. This is because, not everyone possess the skills of designing and developing the perfect website. The question therefore remains; what is required when developing a website? Having an outline for your website is the best way to kick-start the process. The outline is intended to guide the developer providing the basic ideas to be used with the possibility of making changes as the process progresses. It is during the process of creating an outline for the website that the files and graphics needed for the site are organized. To better control the process, the files should contain relevant information related to your product or services you intend to offer or generally reflect the main purpose of the site.

Developing a Web Outline

Just like the name suggests, a web outline is a brief outline of your website containing images and files to be used in the actual process. Having an outline is imperative as it keeps tracks of the physical data in addition to controlling the growing database as the process of web development goes on. In web designs, there is a general misconception among professionals and individuals who design websites or wish to have websites designed for them where such people feel like they know everything that is required in the process. It is not that people do not know anything about what to expect but without a formal outline, memory can become hazy leaving some room for mistakes to occur. With the outline however, you can actually remember how certain things are supposed to occur and in what order.

Developing a Website Outline

•    Creating a root directory: It is important to have all the important files linked to your index pages while the files that are used most frequently linked to your root directory. This process is meant to ensure easier retrieval of files thus saving a lot of time.

•    Developing sub-directories: Each series of related pages on the website should have sub-directories. The sub-directories are supposed to contain all the relevant information in individual folders. This process helps search engines pick up relevant information so as to drive relevant traffic to your website.

•    Organizing directory links: The files links that are linked to the root directory should be contained in unique sub-directories. In order for the sub-directories to be unique, ensure that the files from the root directory are linked to separate folders that contain unique content.

•    Using simple file names: It makes no sense naming the files in your website using names that you cannot memorize. Remember, the harder the name, the more challenging it becomes to retrieve the files. The most important thing when naming files and folders is to utilize keywords.

It is highly recommended that you don’t keep changing the names of your files and folders or even HTML pages when developing a website. This means that when developing a website outline, name your files and HTML pages in a manner that you won’t have to change the names in future even as you expand. If you really have to change the names, then ensure that you place a direct link in the old location.
