by Alice Lyttleton pediatric dentist in ocala fl

When it comes to dental implant, it is basically a surgical procedure meant for replacing tooth roots. They are not fully visible and also are placed in the jawbone. In usual, there is a metal post or frame placed into the jawbone beneath the gums. The Titanium post in fact dissolves with time and also with proper precautions and treatment, it is actually meant to stay there for long.

Dental clinics have in fact obtained more of these important cases in that past several years. This article is going to explain the type and procedures of dental implant restoration.

Well, the classification’s is in fact done on three main types of indicators – procedure, head shape and implant size.

Procedure

Single Stage – It basically involves placing a long and an important implant into jaw. Its upper side is basically first levelled with the gum tissues, after that the tissue is then fully stitched. It then leaves that implant head visible. After several months, the abutment/temporary restoration would be fully attached without a minor surgery that exposes the head. However, extra precautions are meant to be taken for ensuring that healing process goes smoothly.

Subperiosteal Implants – They are meant to be placed under the gum but on or above the jawbone. This is generally used on patients who are blessed with a shallow jawbone and also don’t wish to go through surgical procedure.

Two State – This is said to be the most common way used in the practice. The implant is meant to be placed in the jawbone that tends to lie with bone under the gum. After the same, the gum tissue would be then close for a complete protection. The surrounding bone then heals and fuses into the same. After a small healing period, a second minor surgery would be the done followed by abutment attachment.

Endosteal Implants – They are in fact surgically implanted into the jawbone. After gum tissue healing, a second and important surgery’s performed for attaching the post to the implant.

Classification is done on head type

External Hex Connector – It is in fact placed on the top of implant head, this is basically a Hexagon shaped connector.

Internal Hex Connector – This is another important type of hexagonal shape connector. They are an opening in the head into that the artificial teeth’s screwed.

Internal Octagon Connector – It is actually shaped like an Octagon, it has in fact an opening in the head into that the restoration’s screwed.
