Delhi Getting Infamous for Crime against Women and Foreigners
by Abhinav K. Digital Marketing Expert, FreelanceDelhi High Court recently shown her concern on the rising crime in the state and asked the police to immediately control criminal activities which are disturbing the peaceful and wholesome environment of the country's capital. It also indicated discontentment with the Delhi Police affidavit containing the relative graph of criminal offenses against females revealed in 44 red-flagged places of the Delhi city in the first quarter of 2014. The High Court instructed the police to present a more "detailed, correct and complete picture" of the offenses against females in different places, specifically in Mehrauli, Govindpuri, Hauz Khas and Safdarjung Enclave, and actions taken to control the same.
"We are not pleased with affidavit
presented by Delhi Police and are coming back the same, so that a better
one with maps, platforms and more details can be registered. The affidavit is to cope particularly with the police stations of Mehrauli, Govindpuri, Hauz Khas and Safdarjung Enclave.
"It
shall indicate actions taken in these places by the cops for lowering
women-related criminal activity that we are concerned with. It shall
also indicate whether proper undercover techniques are being applied in
searching the issues as well as whether medical techniques are being
applied by the authorities in each and every situation," said by a bench
of judges at Delhi High Court.
"The court instructed the cops to also cope with the points in the review of Delhi State Legal Services Power (DSLSA) based on the locations and reasons for criminal activity in the red-flagged places."- Kislay Pandey, Criminal Lawyer at the High Court of Delhi.
Other than crime against women, Delhi is also witnessing a growth in cyber crimes. Few weeks ago, over 5 million email IDs and security passwords of Gmail users were decoded and revealed by the hackers. There is a increasing risk of data theft and loss of business for many companies especially in the service sector.
"For insurance
company this threat is a business opportunity. When HDFC Ergo launched
its separate online security plan several years ago, it found only a
number of clients in the first season. But in the last few several
weeks, it has seen a distinct rise in the requirement for such techniques. Both Tata AIG and ICICI Lombard launched their plan this season."- Kislay Pandey, Criminal Lawyer at the High Court of Delhi.
Delhi
is the capital of India and most of the foreign travellers prefer to
spend some time in Delhi during their visit to India. It is very
shocking and unfortunate that foreign tourists are frequently
experiencing offensive reactions from Delhiites toward them. Road rage
is another serious concern which is spoiling the image of India's capital.
