You will be glad to know that since 2011, India has become the largest milk producer in the world. The process started way back in the year 1985 when the Indian government encouraged more production of milk and allowed lucrative subsidies at the dairy farming sector. As far as dairy farming is concerned, UP has always been at the top; besides Punjab and Haryana has also been a great contributor. You will be surprised to know that since 2014, dairy farming has picked up pace at the Delhi NCR region. At Delhi NCR, towards the outskirts, lots of open spaces were available, which were used by the government for the purpose of farming.
