• A healthy artery is used to create a new path for the blood flow. The breast bone is then closed with a wire.

You will not be allowed to eat from midnight before the day of operation and instructed further by doctor as required.

Post Open Heart Surgery:

You will have two to three tubes attached to your chest to drain fluid from around your heart.

You may have Intravenous tubes to supply fluid and catheter attached to bladder for urine collection.

There will be machines attached to monitor your heart and nurses around you to attend you.

You will be in ICU for first night and then shift to general room for next 3 to 7 days.
