Creative Arts Emmys Nominations Include Oscar and Emmy Award Winners

The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards has honored the best primetime television nominees from June 1, 2019, to May 31, 2020. The nominees have been selected by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. The official ceremony will be conducted on September 20, 2020. The 72nd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards will be hosted before the main ceremony on September 12 and 13, 2020. The ceremony will be hosted by popular television host Jimmy Kimmel.

Veterans Nominated for Different Categories at the Emmys

In what seems to be an achievement, 81-year-old American set designer Eugene has been nominated again for his work on the sketch-comedy show Saturday Night Live. The designer has won an Emmy award four times, and if he wins again, it will be his fourth consecutive win. The veteran has worked on the highly popular show since it first premiered in 1975.

Filipino-American fashion designer Zaldy Goco has been nominated under the costume’s category in nonfiction, variety, or reality programs. If she wins the Emmy award, it will be her fourth win for RuPaul’s American reality competition television series Drag Race. The reality show showcases RuPaul’s search for America’s next drag superstar. The fashion designer is also famous for designing costumes for Michael Jackson and Lady Gaga.

American songwriter, record producer, and audio engineer Atticus Ross and Trent Reznor were nominated for the original dramatic score for the music of HBO’s original limited series Watchmen. The duo has also been nominated under the category of original music and lyrics for the song ‘The Way It Used To Be’. Ross and Reznor have also won the prestigious Oscar award for the soundtrack of The Social network in the year 2010.

Oscar Winner Swedish Composer Nominated for Dramatic Score Award

Swedish composer and record producer Ludwig Goransson might win an Emmy award for the dramatic score. Goransson won an Oscar for the best original score of MCU’s Black Panther in 2019. He also won a Grammy award for Best Score Soundtrack for visual media for the same film. In 2019, he won two Grammy awards for record of the year and song of the year for Childish Gambino’s This is America.

American re-recording mixer Gary Rizzo is a two-time Oscar winner for his work in Christopher Nolan’s Inception and Dunkirk. He has been nominated under the sound mixing for a non-fiction reality program category for Laurel Canyon: A Place in Time.

A Huge List of Nominees for Best Drama Series, Best Comedy Show Categories

Ozark, The Mandalorian and Succession will compete for the Best Drama Series award along with Netflix original The Crown, AMC’s Better Call Saul, BBC’s Killing Eve, Hulu original The Handmaid’s Tale based on Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name and finally Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Nominees under the best comedy show category include Dead To Me, The Good Place, Maisel, Schitt’s Creek, Insecure, Curb your enthusiasm, The Kominsky Method, and What We Do In The Shadows.

Leslie Jones made the nomination announcement alongside Television Academy chairman and CEO Frank Scherma. According to reports, the Creative Arts ceremony will be conducted as a special event due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is being done to ensure the safety of everyone.
