There has ever been some sort of confusion over the meaning of content writing and copywriting. Immediately after reading a blog article with this topic, I believe that the need to jump right into the confusing discussion.

Supposed difference involving content writing and copywriting

According Glenn copywriting as its name implies isn't any writing done with the customer in mind. The main purpose will be always to drive sales for your own client. He travelled further to say that after you really do copywriting which you are carefully thinking around what you're writing because you basically need to close a sale.

Glenn succinctly stated that using content writing, you are only using phrases in no particular sequence (these really are my words). What is happening here is that this content writer is writing boring texts which no one would care to read. In other words you're writing for that search engines (his words) with key word stuffing and all that.

Authentic difference involving content writing and copy writing

Using the aforementioned contexts in mind, I beg to differ. I entirely disagree with Glenn. In case the aim of writing a content (according to Glenn) is always to entice search engines and copywriting is intended to close sales, then each types of writing would be basically the same. The end result would be to get folks to notice your brand and subsequently earn a purchase. Whilst content writing would be the forerunner, copywriting clinches the offer. End of discussion.

Come to think of it, why would any self respecting author want to produce something that no one would want to read? I'd love to know your opinion on this particular, feel free to drop a comment and let me why.

Coming back into this issue in hand, permit me to state that copywriting is part of content writing. The two are profoundly interwoven. Although content writing is your mother, copywriting would be your child. Interval.

According to Dictionary.com, content is something that's expressed by method of moderate such as writing. With this particular definition on mind, I'd venture to say that copy writing can be just a medium of saying achieved throughout writing. Once any copy consists of published, it automatically becomes a content writing.

What differentiates copywriting from content writing is that while the former is still specific and may be used to induce sales; the subsequent can be used for unique reasons underneath sunlight. For example, if I am writing a political expository essay, my main intention would be to inform by means of exposure as opposed to sell. We know expository essays are neither boring nor full of fluff as Glenn will have us believe.

Conclusion

On a final note, I really believe exactly what distinguishes one particular writing from another may be the angle and purpose. As the purpose of differs they must be tackled out of angles that will interest and inform the readers.
