Take care on storage and cleaning

Do not add fresh solution to the used solution in your case, even if it appears clean since used solution may contain bacteria which can come into direct contact with your eyes and cause an infection.

Do not go swimming

There is a risk of eye infection from bacteria while wearing your novelty contact lenses in swimming pool water. Wearing your contact lenses while swimming can irritate your eyes, this can threaten your vision and in worst case scenario, it may lead to blindness and require a cornea transplant in some cases. It is recommended that you should remove your novelty contact lenses before taking a shower.

Do not sleep

Sleeping in contacts like a plastic bag over your head because wearing your contacts can lead to oxygen deprivation. It’s not ideal for oxygen exchange and the risk of corneal inflammation can increase if you use your novelty contact lenses overnight. In case, if you accidentally fall asleep, then remove them as soon as you wake up and wear glasses to allow your eyes to breathe.

Put contact lenses before applying makeup

If you wear eyeliner, mascara, remember to put your novelty contact lenses in before applying makeup and taking them out before removing makeup. There is a risk that makeup may bind itself to the lenses. Oil-based products are required for removing waterproof makeup and both types may cause blurring of vision.

Do not wear when you are not well

If you are suffering from a cold or flu do not or avoid wearing novelty contact lenses, since it applies to the sickness that affects the eyes by causing redness and puffiness. When you are sick, your immune system is weak so it increases the chances of an eye infection.
