Competitor Analysis plays an important part in the success of a business along with other techniques of SEO. Competitor Analysis is used for identifying the strategies of the competitor’s business. It helps a new business to plan a unique strategy to achieve success and growth no matter how many the competitors are. Competitor Analysis is a significant part of Search Engine Optimization.

Competitor Analysis is performed in 3 stages.

1.       IDENTIFYING COMPETITORS:

A new business or an existing business which is need of page ranking should recognize the number of successful competitors and their rank in the corresponding field. The competitors could be suggested by the clients a digital marketing agency or the agency itself searches for the various competitors.

                                              

It is better to follow the second procedure as the first one may have a probable chance of missing some competitors. Some might recognize the business competitors in and around their area but they might not know about some online competitors. So, it is suggested to give the task of recognizing the online competitors to the specialized SEO Companies.

 

After the process of identifying the competitors, the list of competitors must be made. Then we must proceed to the SWOT analysis.

 

2.       SWOT ANALYSIS:

This is nothing but the short form of:

a.       Strengths of the Competitor.

b.      Weaknesses of the Competitor.

c.       Opportunities created by the Competitor

d.      Threats faced by the Competitor.

STRENGTHS OF THE COMPETITOR: The inquiry is done on the strategies of the competitors by which they are able to achieve the success. It helps the clients to plan a unique strategy with these strengths in mind.

WEAKNESSES OF THE COMPETITOR: Recognizing the weaknesses of the competitors along with the strengths is important. One must make sure that they are not making the same mistakes as their competitors.

OPPORTUNITIES CREATED BY THE COMPETITOR: A successful firm is always attributed by the opportunities it creates for itself even during the tough times. It will be very useful in knowing the opportunities created by the competitors and then plan to make better strategies.

THREATS FACED BY COMPETITOR: Threats to your competitors may also become threats for you. It is better to realize them and take necessary steps to avoid them.

3.       SURVEILLANCE:Constant Surveillance on the competitors is essential. Knowing their future plans, current implementations enable your business to adapt in tandem with the changing trends.

Without the competitor analysis, implementing other techniques of Digital Marketing or SEO would be in vain. So, this should be made an integral part of digital marketing strategy.
