CNC Lathe Machine Components and Parts

by Daniel Kevin Leading Manufacturer

CNC lathe machine has many components and to the function of the process, they are important. Depending on what you are using it to do and what type of CNC lathe machine you have, your machine will differ.

All CNC lathe machines with CNC turning part have at least a tailstock, carriage, headstock, and bed. Many have broad stable bearing surfaces and with excellent precision, they work. It can manufacture parts when the machine is stable and for both tolerance and repeatability, these parts meet the requirements.

Here are the major parts and the function of the CNC lathe:

Bed- The bed allows connects to it and it is actually the base of the headstock. In perfect parallel alignment to the spindle axis, the bed helps set the tailstock and the carriage.

A part called away holds the tailstock and the carriage onto the track. Using a pinion and rack system, the carriage travels along with the machine from CNC turning part manufacturer keeps it on am accurate pitch, it has a feed screw or it also includes a lead screw.

Headstock: Many parts to the headstock are there and many of the functional pieces of the machine reside here. Here you will find the speed change mechanism, the change gears, and the main spindle.

You will have a strong design within the headstock because, with a variety of force, it has to cut. With vibration, it would create problems if it were light that can destroy its quality and distort the finished piece.

Cross slide - Sitting on top of the carriage, this is a small part. It has both a lead screw and the main spindle axis. Along the main spindle axis, the lead screw actually moves in a perpendicular fashion so that facing operations can be performed by it; at a time, only one direction can be done.

Carriage- Turning either in a longitudinal or perpendicular direction, the tool bit is within the carriage depending on how the operator controls it. On a CNC machine with CNC turning part, the operator will set this where on the older machines; it would use a hand wheel.

To automate it or to manually move the carriage, the handwheels can be used. Also for ease of use, the handwheels have calibrations on them.

Feed or Lead screw- With the gears of the CNC lathe machine, both of this help. For the machine, the feed screw is the driveshaft and to drive the mechanism of the carriage, it works with the gears. By either the change gears or the quick change gearbox, the feed screw is also driven.

Allowing for the correct ratio, there are other gears that so that the parts that are made are accurate. With the spindle, the lead screw and feed screw work together on the work that you are doing to make the correct amount of screw threads.

There will also be a computer component Depending on the CNC lathe you have, where to do exactly what you want it to do, you can program either the CAM or CAD program. They are not as difficult once you start to use them although these machines seem complicated.
