Choosing the right location for installing Hi Wall ACs

by Amili R. SEO
In recent times, there has been an increase in the popularity of split air conditioners or Hi Wall ACs. There are various reasons behind this upsurge. But when it comes to installation of these ACs, things are not as easy as window ACs. The installation of the Hi Wall air conditioners is the most important and crucial part. If it is carried out perfectly, your air conditioner will give you optimum performance, but if it is not done properly you won’t get the desired cooling effect and there may be frequent maintenance problems of which the most prominent can be the gas or refrigerant leakage.

The installation of the split air conditioner must be performed by a certified air conditioning technician and the task should not be handed over to a novice person who is experimenting with your AC. It requires years of practice to become an expert split AC installation and assembly technician.

The first and foremost step is to choose the location for the installation of Hi Wall Air Conditioners. Let’s find out more in the below post.

1) Indoor Unit

Here are few worthy suggestions when choosing the location for indoor unit installation:

a) The indoor unit is installation inside the room at the point from where the air can be distributed evenly throughout the room.

b) According to experts, the indoor unit should be installed above the bed to get the desirable cooling performance. If one needs to avoid the direct flow of chilled air on the body, one can always alter the direction of the louvers.

c) The wall mounted indoor unit must be installed at the height of about 8 to 10 feet from the floor so that that most of the chilled air is used for cooling the room and not just for cooling the hot roof.

d) The indoor unit should be accessible feasibly so that one can expediently clean the filter every fortnight and the indoor unit and that one can alter the position of the louvers feasibly.

2) Outdoor Unit

a) The outdoor unit can be installed in the open space preferably on the terrace so that the air can flow freely over the compressor and the condenser. If the terrace is not suitable for installation, t can be kept on the sunshade above the wall or it can be hanged on the outdoor wall using the angles.

b) The installation of outdoor unit should be performed in such a way that remains easily accessible for performing the maintenance works of the compressor, condenser, and other parts.

c) The surface on which the outdoor unit is to be installed should be inflexible enough to counteract its vibration.

d) There should not be any interferences in front of the outdoor that can block the flow of fan air from passing to the open space. Any hinderances will extremely affect the performance of the AC and can also cause the burning of hermetically sealed compressor coil.
