Checklist for Your Winter Travel Vacations

by Namah Corbett Namah, Jim Corbett

The beauty of winter travel is that 99% of the time everyone sees the outer layer of your clothes. So, as long as you get clothes that you can wear again and again, you do not really have to bring in too many items. The Resorts at Jim Corbett have room heaters fitted in their rooms which will keep you comfortable with these clothes. Our typical cold weather packing list looks like this

  • Long Underwear

Your first layer should be the long underwear. They should be tight against the skin and made of non-absorbent material. This layer removes water and keeps your skin dry. Some of the options can be Long Thermal wear, Microfiber Lined Top & Bottom Set. Bring your favourite travel jeans with a pair of warm gaiters and chinos to spice up your outfit.

 Heavy Coat

A heavy jacket is a key element for any winter trip. Depending on your destination, you may want a nice coat to coat your hot diapers! A beige mosaic is a great neutral to have on hand, and I love wearing a red coat for a splash of colour. The Rooms in Jim Corbett have a special type of Epoxy layer coated over them which avoids any leakage and keeps the room temperature warm.

  • Sweaters

Oversized and comfortable sweaters are in fashion these days, but for a winter trip, they are particularly interesting for mattresses and sun loungers. You can combine a sweater with almost anything and dress it up and down! Always wear some neutral colours like beige, grey and black, as well as fun colours like yellow mustard and burgundy. Wear sweaters made from 20% merino wool and should not be bulky.

  • Collared Shirts & T-Shirts

These are superimposed underneath the sweaters for a wide variety of look of sweaters/leggings. Your favourite t-shirts to wear in cold weather must be hemp, which is naturally insulating and antibacterial, just like wool. Additionally, you can bring a flannel as well as puffy vest so as to wear over a sweater.

  • Winter Boots

There are tons of style boots, but keep in mind that high-quality winter boots are waterproof, which means they will keep their feet dry under snow and snow. If you have room in your suitcase, consider bringing a second pair of more casual boots or boots that you can also dress upon. Get a size larger than your normal size for socks or thicker shoes. If you plan to fold the mattress socks, you may need two larger sizes. If possible, try socks similar to the ones you intend to wear.

  • Accessories

The beans keep your head warm and add a touch of elegance to any winter outfit! Usually one must choose a beige or cream hat and a pair with a large fluffy scarf. Depending on your destination, a pair of lightweight gloves can be a good investment. It is highly recommended to wear a few pairs of merino wool socks which will keep your feet warm and comfortable all day long! Hand gloves add warmth to most thick gloves.

  • Down Jacket

Down jackets are a lifesaver - keep warm! If you are travelling with light, be sure to pack "pack" as they scan very compactly. If you have room in your luggage and are heading for a cooler destination, a package below is a great choice. Try to bring two jackets on a winter trip: the thick wool jacket for very cold days and a light, compressible goose jacket. It's perfect for those days where one just wants the freedom not to wear a big coat, but it's also a fantastic extra layer. Keep your jackets in backpacks as you may need an extra layer of heat in very cold weather.

  • Scarves & Gloves

You must wear a thick scarf for your winter vacation which will keep you warm on a cold weather day. Hotels do provide an extremely soft scarf from Royal Robbins, which blends in with the wool and turns into a good scarf or infinity scarf with a few well-placed buttons. Wear Merino wool gloves that work with touch screens as you will using your phone continuously. Basically, these gloves are locally made and keep your hands warm even in 2-3% Celsius temperatures when body shivers due to cold.

It can be concluded that along with these you would be carrying your medicines, prescriptions, torches, vaporizer for colds, etc. things while stepping out for vacation. Now that you have noticed these essentials of winter travel, you are ready to enjoy your winter vacation without problems.
