Cheap Holidays to Turkey Allow You to Visit Exciting Places

by Daisy Wilkinson Travel Guides

A charming transcontinental nation with a large portion of it situated in Western Asia and a smaller portion in south-eastern Europe, Turkey would certainly charm you with its intriguing history, rich cultural heritage, and fascinating attractions. As you explore its historical places, you'll come across some interesting tales of conquests by powerful rulers of the past, such as the Romans, Byzantine, and the Ottomans. Besides all its historic attractions, this country also has some charming coastal cities you can explore during your time spent in this part of the world.

You can enjoy your Turkey holidays during the period between mid-June and mid-September, as it is the summer season in this country. During this time of the year, the daytime temperatures are extremely pleasant and you can find some excellent deals on hotel accommodations in certain places like Istanbul. If you want your holidays to be even cheaper, visit during winters from November to February. This is a low season in Turkey and the hotels in the country would be willing to offer unbelievable discounts on their room rates. The best time to visit would be the spring season, which begins in the month of March and stays until mid-June. However, this is a peak tourist season and the hotel accommodations would be very expensive.

The Aya Sofya and the Sultan Ahmed Mosque are among the major attractions you can explore during your cheap holidays to Turkey. You'll also be delighted to visit the Topkapi Palace while exploring the city of Istanbul. Located in the province of Izmir, Ephesus is yet another fascinating attraction worth visiting. It was ruled in the past by powerful empires and has many attractions in store for its visitors. When you are in Cappadocia, you'll get to witness the rock-cut Byzantine churches and awe-inspiring rock valleys. Another fascinating attraction you can visit while holidaying in the country is Pamukkale, located in western Turkey.

During your Turkey holidays, you can also get to enjoy some thrilling outdoor activities. Among them is a hot-air balloon ride, which allows you to savour the views of spectacular rock formations from greater heights. You can go island-hopping and enjoy some fabulous views on the way with a cruising trip on a yacht. From the summit of the Babadag Mountain located near the city of Fethiye, you can embark on a paragliding adventure. The Jeep safaris to the Taurus Mountains is yet another activity you can indulge in. It takes you through the delightful sights of orange groves and banana plantations.

Your time in Turkey would also allow you to taste some of the delicious varieties of Turkish cuisine. Among them is a mouth-watering soup called Corba, which is made using tomatoes and lentil and is a favourite among most of the Turkish population. Lahmacun or Pide can be eaten instead of a pizza in any of the Turkish restaurants. This traditional dish comprises a thin pastry topped with eggs, diced meat, tuna, or cheese and is one of the cheapest foods you can have in the country.
