Char Dham Yatra Packages: A Devout Waltz to Heaven
by Kevin Smith AuthorIndia is an abode of millions of
deities with approximately 330 million in Hinduism itself. So far, their
emergence and existence haven’t been unambiguous, but their prominence has
remained specific to different communities residing in India. Evidently, with a
plethora of deities to pay homage to, there has been built numerous shrines and
temples across the lengths and breadths of this country. Among them, Char Dham
or the four prominent shrines are construed the most significant. These shrines
account for Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, nestled in the
Indian Himalayas. However, scattered across the Himalayas in alignment, these
shrines aren’t easily accessed by many pioneers, who thus, seek after a
well-planned pilgrimage itinerary. And that’s when Char Dham Yatra tour
Packages come into the light.
As per Hindu mythology, a pilgrimage
to these four shrines in the vicinity of Uttarakhand is hailed by enormous
pilgrims from all around the country and world for they believe it will
liberate their souls from the shackles of life and help them attain salvation
after their death. So, let’s acknowledge what is it that is profoundly embraced
and adorned by the travelers in these religious towns of Garhwal.
Yamunotri
Perched at the edge of river Yamuna,
Yamunotri is the source of this river and can be accessed only by a prolonged
trekking journey. Pilgrims begin their wayfaring from Janki Chatti and climb
6Km of lofty and wobbly trajectory via pony or Doli ride or on foot. They
meander amidst the enchanting meadows of lush green valleys and reach the
shrine to witness the bounties of architectural and nature’s beauty in all its
forms.
Gangotri
The rapidly flowing river Ganga and
the holiest river of Hindus originate at Gomukh, where it is named as
Bhagirathi. It gushes down to Gangotri and meets Alaknanda to receive its name,
Ganga. The picturesque view of river Ganga gushing down the beautifully aligned
Himalayan range is nothing less than bliss to travelers’ eyes. Once pilgrims
are fed by nature, they get to adore the architectural and pious essence at the
shrine of Gangotri by visiting in the temple and offering their prayers.
Kedarnath
Being an abode of Lord Shiva, this
town is located at an elevation of 3,583m above sea level in the Rudraprayag
district. It’s a 16Km trek uphill that involves a passage through lush green
meadows, foaming river Mandakini, and snow-peaked mountains. During 2013
floods, when everything surrounding the temple was devastated heavily only this
temple stood still, which further strengthened the faith of pilgrims.
Badrinath
Home of Lord Vishnu, Badrinath is believed
to have gained its reverence when Pandavas passed by this town on their way to
heaven. This town and even the main shrine are accessible by road for it is the
most developed among all four Dhams. The Alaknanda river that merges with
Bhagirathi in Gangotri to give birth to river Ganga also originates here.
Another most insightful place to visit in this town is the Mana Cave where
Vyasa wrote Mahabharata.
