Candolim Beach

Candolim beach is located in 14 km north of Panaji in the state of Goa. It has a serene atmosphere which entertains fewer activities on it, compared to other neighboring beaches. Candolim Beach has a vast stretch of beautiful sand which is situated along the coastline of Arabian Sea that begins at Fort Aguda and ends at ends at Chapora beach. It is an ideal place to be if you are searching for peace and serenity and also a getaway from the hectic city life for some time as it provides the appropriate environment with the numerous accommodation facilities placed along the beach with peaceful surroundings.


Candolim Beach is also famous as the birthplace of a famous freedom fighter of Goa, Abba Faria also known as the Father of Hypnotism.

This attractive beach is drawing a lot of tourists these days, as the beach offers a variety of water sports activities from parasailing to water skiing, wind surfing and many more thrilling water sports. This beach also offers other facilities like training as well as specializing in the water sports activities. For the ones who love solitude, fishing is also offered as an option. Yoga and meditation which is gaining a huge popularity in these age of health conscious people, has also been established in this place because of the peaceful atmosphere of this beach.

Apart from the regular activities of a beach like sunbathing and swimming this beach also provides facilities for an adventurous expedition into the core of the sea where you can capture some unforgettable moments of sunset. As for the nightlife of this beach there no special activities taking place.

The best time to visit this exotic beach is from December to February.

Some Major Attractions of Candolim Beach 

The chief attraction of this beach is Aguada Fort. This fort was built by the Portuguese in1912 for the defense against the Dutch and the Maratha intruders.

Apart from this historic fort there are some more historic monuments like church, lighthouse and the barracks of the Aguada Jail which attracts the tourists to this beach. In the northern side of this fort there are two more beaches, Calangute and Condolim which are one of the popular places in Goa. This fort is surrounded by numerous resorts, villas and guest houses.

Food 
This place has a lot to offer depending on your taste and mood, there are numerous shoreline shacks, classy restaurants or restaurants with candlelit dining and exotic bars. The foods offered in these places have a long list to choose from, as they vary from local vegetarian or sea food, Indian as well as foreign cuisines are also served at these restaurants. Service at the bars and restaurants are excellent and the dishes offered are mouthwatering.

How to Reach

There is numerous bus services leading to Candolim Beach, number of buses ply from Mapusa and Calangute to this place. The nearest interstate bus station is located at Mapusa. Buses from Panjim also stop at this place. The Dabolim Airport provides the tourists provide an option of transportation through air.
